Frequently asked questions
The questions we get most, answered, with a link to where each thing lives. If something is missing, write to us: we keep adding questions.
What is Pilot Network?
Pilot Network is an aviation community for pilots, student pilots and cabin crew. It started as a Telegram channel and today it brings together several active communities, a pilot job board, real accounts of airline selection processes, a free CV builder and discounts negotiated for the community.
Everything here is free for anyone who flies or wants to fly. We do not charge for access, we do not sell data and we are not a recruitment agency: we publish and organise what is out there, and we give you the tools to present yourself well.

Where can I read airline assessment feedbacks?
Under «Airline Assessment Feedbacks». That is where the community shares what their selection processes were actually like: how the interview went, which technical tests came up, what the simulator assessment involved, what HR asked and how long the airline took to reply.
They are sorted by airline, so you can go straight to the one that called you. And if you have been through a process, you can add yours: the section lives on that.

How much does it cost to become a pilot?
It depends mainly on two things: whether you train integrated —from zero to licence at one school and without interruption— or modular, taking each qualification separately and at your own pace. Modular works out cheaper and can be spread over time; integrated is faster and more expensive.
Whatever the school, the cost is always made of the same parts: ATPL theory, flight hours, the class 1 medical and its renewals, the authority's examination fees, ICAO English proficiency and, at the end, the type rating for the aircraft you will fly, which at many airlines is paid by the pilot.
We do not publish a figure here because the figure is set by each school and changes every year: the honest answer is to ask the ones you are interested in and compare. On this site you will find the schools we work with, and in the discounts section, reduced prices for the community on study material — the part you can genuinely make cheaper from day one.

How do I build my pilot CV?
With our CV builder. It is free and it is built for aviation: hours by aircraft type, ratings, licences, courses and experience, in the order a recruitment department reads them. You fill in the fields and out comes a PDF ready to send.
No account is needed to use it. The draft is saved in your browser, so you can come back to your CV without starting from scratch, and a free account removes the watermark.

How do I prepare for an airline interview?
First, for free: read what other people went through with that airline and practise with the material in the study hub. Knowing which tests come up, and in what order, takes away half the nerves.
And if you would rather prepare with someone in front of you, we do that. We are professionals in the industry and we have spent years preparing pilots for selection processes: personal interview, technical interview, psychometric testing and the simulator assessment. Get in touch and we will tell you how we work and what you need for the airline you are applying to.
